On both the business and the technical levels, Pique Solutions provides an objective assessment of how effectively the customer’s IT infrastructure aligns with the key priorities of the business, and identifies near and longer-term opportunities to strengthen the alignment and advance the business by creating value, reducing cost, and improving business agility.
On the business level, Pique conducts Economic Value Analysis (EVA) of existing IT infrastructure, including products and services, based on the enterprise stack map. The EVA shows the macro-level investments (current and planned) by category for software, support and services, highlights areas of key actual cost savings/productivity/business value, and provides quantitative input into the development of a scorecard. The scorecard identifies gaps between business objectives and capabilities, opportunities to solve critical business challenges by more effectively leveraging existing IT investments, as well as opportunities for standardization, consolidation, redesign, and migration. Pique then develops customized Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) or Return on Investment (ROI)-based Business Cases that support our recommendations by quantifying the economic (ROI/TCO) and the broader business and strategic benefits.
On the technical level, Pique develops IT Infrastructure Maps (hardware, software, on-premise, cloud) and creates an “enterprise stack map” for the business – a graphical depiction of the IT infrastructure showing new vs. legacy systems, highlighting strategic importance to the business (big bets), overlaps from M&A activity, and on-premise vs. cloud deployment distribution for the entire IT stack.
In addition to the traditional TCO- and ROI-based justification of IT procurement or migration initiatives, Pique Solutions evaluates a broader set of business-value drivers that are of interest to business decision makers, such as the effects of technology procurement or migration on the following:
• Business Processes
• Customer and Supplier Relationships
• Performance and Availability of IT Solutions
• Time to Market
• Ability to rapidly develop integrated business solutions
